MILLY Jackdaw's stunning theatrical adaptation of The Snow Queen will be showing at Hermon Community Hall on Sunday, January 12 at 2.30pm.
The Snow Queen, by Hans Andersen, is an Arctic adventure that follows the fortunes and misfortunes of young Gerda as she searches for her missing friend Cei.
Milly has been presenting storytelling shows in Wales since 2007, drawing on traditional tales and creating original material. She most enjoys collaborating with other artists and musicians and last year toured performances of an original adaptation of Hans Andersen’s The Nightingale in collaboration with musician Vee Robinson.
Following on the success of this Milly and Vee have taken their approach to new heights by teaming up with Jo Munton of Vagabondi Theatrical Arts and introducing puppetry to the mix. Additionally they have engaged prop maker Popol Fazakerley to create more magical possibilities with the staging of the show and the costumes are designed by Samantha Boulanger of Kaotic Kitus.
With the help of a large hat box, an umbrella and an assortment of found and made things, Milly, Jo and Vee bring you a performance in which storytelling and puppetry play against a backdrop of sounds and music to transport you to the lands of the northern lights.
