Seventy sports clubs in Pembrokeshire have recently benefitted from funding.

Over the last financial year, they have successfully received grants totalling more than £407,800 from the Be Active Wales Fund, sponsored by Sport Wales.

The fund supported clubs in 25 sports, including cricket, weightlifting, sailing, short mat bowls, among others.

The Be Active Wales Fund dedicates its grant scheme to aid non-profit community clubs and groups, enabling them to develop and sustain their activities.

Grants varied from a minimum allocation of £300 to a hefty £50,000, providing resources for ventures like coach education and equipment purchase to larger-scale projects like floodlight installations and boat provisioning for sailing clubs.

Alan Jones or Lois Hilling from Pembrokeshire County Council's sports development department, Sport Pembrokeshire, can be contacted for application guidance.

Applicants can still apply as the Fund is always open to new entries.
