A PEMBROKESHIRE business has been invited to supply its own locally-produced ale to a nationally-acclaimed festival this summer.
The family-run Caffle Brewery in Llawhaden has been selected to provide its real ale for this year’s Great British Beer Festival which takes place in London this month.
It is the only brewery in Pembrokeshire chosen to sell its product at the event.
The five-day festival, which is expected to attract more than 55,000 beer lovers from across the globe, is hosted by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) in the capital’s Olympia Exhibition Centre between August 12 and 16.
Caffle Brewery, which recently celebrated its first year in business, produces innovative real ale in a converted micro-brewery next door to the Bannister family’s home.
Drop Squint, Caffle’s most popular ale, was chosen by the members of CAMRA for its unique taste and flavour to go on sale at the festival’s bars.
Sharon Bannister of Caffle Brewery said that the family was delighted at the request.
She added: “To supply our ale to one of the most popular events in Britain is an honour. Having been in business for just over one year, we have achieved so much and are overwhelmed by the positive feedback we have received from our products”.
Caffle Brewery has a strong client base and is currently supplying real ale to a number of independent retailers and pubs across the county including Cresselly Arms, The Vine Inn and The Taberna Inn.
They have also created special edition ales for local festivals and events such as the Seafair Haven festival which took place this June.
