Fishguard's secondary school, Ysgol Bro Gwaun, is to close for the rest of today (Tuesday) as the school has suffered a total power cut.
A spokesman for Pembrokeshire County Council said that pupils who travel to school by bus will be taken home as soon as possible.
However, pupils who usually go to school by private means will need to be collected by their parents.
The spokesman added that parents could not ring the school, as all the phone lines are down due to the power cut.
Parents are being urged to make their way to Ysgol Bro Gwaun as soon as possible and to let other parents know of the situation.
The school is due to reopen tomorrow (Wednesday).
