A reward is being offered after the theft of a number of files and records belonging to a community association.

A private individual has put up the reward in a bid to trace not only whoever has taken the documents, but also anyone who handles them.

The incident has taken place in Manorbier, when the community hall at Skrinkle was entered and a locked storage cupboard in the premises was forcibly opened. There was no sign of a forcible break-in at the hall.

The theft took place sometime between Monday January 19th and Thursday January 22nd.

The missing files and records are the property of Manorbier and District Community Association, and chairman Howard Lloyd said:

"Although the actual value of the property stolen is small, the cost of this theft to the whole of the community of Manorbier district could be incalculable. Any information or help in resolving this crime will be gratefully appreciated."

The reward, for an undisclosed sum, is for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the crime and for assisting in the retention, removal or disposal of the stolen records and files.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Tenby police station on 0845 330 2000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
