Pembrokeshire people with the surname Wood are urged to contact Oakwood Theme Park to take part in a special event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Megafobia – its famous wooden rollercoaster.
The Pembrokeshire theme park is planning a three-day celebration from April 30th to May 2nd for the renowned ride, which has been voted among the top three rollercoasters in the world.
As part of the celebrations Oakwood is hoping to fill every one of the newly-liveried silver carriages on the ride with people called Wood.
"We have put together a really exciting weekend of activities and events to mark Megafobia's 20th birthday," said Oakwood Theme Park's Natalie Hunt.
"We now need the help of the public to see if we can fill the entire ride exclusively with people named Wood."
Anyone with the surname who volunteers to take part will get free entry into the park, and a special allocated time slot for their Megafobia ride.
Chairman of the Rollercoaster Club of Great Britain, Andy Hine MBE, who has ridden 1,000 different roller coasters more than 35,000 times calls Megafobia a modern classic.
"Megafobia looks like a traditional ride but it has been cleverly designed to thrilling effect. The first drop passes close under a tree and gives a hint of what is to come," he said.
"The rest is a scream a second, and the thrills really do come thick and fast with a g-force of 2.75 and speeds up to 77kph," he added.
If your surname is Wood, and you are available on April 30 or May 1, please email natalieh@oakwoodthemepark.co.uk to confirm your availability.
