FIRE crews were called to a tractor fire near Roch last night (Tuesday, August 18).
At around 7.30pm Haverfordwest firefighters were called to the vehicle fire in Rhyndaston.
The crew attended the incident with three make pumps and a water bowser to tackle the tractor and front end loader in a barn which were alight.
Firefighters used two main jets, two hose reel jets, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the flames.
The crew from Haverfordwest left the incident at 8.39pm.
Steven Davies, deputy head of community safety is issuing the following information, said: “The subsequent advice should be considered for anyone involved in the production or storage of combustible materials in agricultural premises.
“Hay and straw should be separated from other building, store hay and straw away from public rights of way, keep stacks dry, keep storage to a minimum in livestock buildings, call the fire service if you suspect overheating and have a 12 figure map reference available by your phone (available on request).
“You can obtain further free fire safety advice from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue service on 0370 6060699.”
