PEMBROKESHIRE’S best dressed women gathered at Wolfscastle Country Hotel on July 12 to celebrate the annual Ladies Day Garden Party.
Eye-catching outfits and a flurry of fascinators were the order of the day, with scenes reminiscent of Royal Ascot and Aintree.
Two hundred and thirty ladies were treated to a glass of Pimms, afternoon tea and serenaded by house band Honey Fungus.
The event, which has become a firm favourite in the local social calendar, enjoyed glorious sunshine and a fashion show by talented local designer Kai Stewart of Jaxxon House.
It was also an opportunity to raise money for charity, with a contribution from ticket sales and a grand raffle contributing to £3,200 being raised on the day.
The money will be split between the Paul Sartori Foundation, which offers specialised, supportive care to those with any life-limiting illness and the Amani Children's Home for abandoned children in Tanzania.
The latter charity is a cause which has been supported by the hotel’s owners Andrew and Mandy Stirling for many years.
Mr Stirling's uncle went to Tanzania as a young 28 year-old missionary doctor in 1934, and by the time of his death in 2004, he had built three hospitals, set up many dispensaries and devised instruments to help in the healing of medical problems.
Mandy also has links with the charity having taught in Westbourne School in Penarth where two of the students, along with their doctor parents, spent four weeks in the Amani Children’s Home.
“We’d like to send a big thank you to everyone who came along and supported Ladies Day,” said Mr Stirling.
“It was the best we've ever held, with thousands of pounds raised for charity. The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to have a fantastic time.”
