Milford Haven Port Authority has announced today that it will make two of its many LNG risk assessments available to members of the public.
The decision to release the documents comes after pressure group Safe Haven's solicitor, Richard Buxton, appealed to the information tribunal in March this year.
The information commissioner ruled that it was wrong of the port authority to refuse to release environmental documents requested by the pressure group under the Freedom of Information Act.
He ordered that two LNG risk assessments should be released within 35 days, one in its entirety and one edited version.
The authority initially decided to appeal the tribunal's decision, but in a surprising u turn has now said it will shortly be releasing the documents.
"The port authority indicated its intention to appeal to the information tribunal," said a spokesman for the authority.
"However on detailed consideration it has decided not to, and is now due to release the documents in line with instructions currently being awaited from the information tribunal."
