Miss L. J. Killa
Surrey (formerly of Haverfordwest)
The death occurred on May 8th of Louise Jane Killa, of Coulsdon, Surrey. She died in Phuket, Bangkok, aged 39.
Originally from St Martin's Park, Haverfordwest, she attended Sir Thomas Picton School. She graduated from Liverpool University and with a 2.1 Bsc and also received an Msc from Cardiff University. When she left education she worked for Interforward in transport logistics until 1996. She then worked for Bibby Transports until 1997 and finally worked for Logica CMG as a pharmaceutical consultant.
Her interests included tall ship sailing with the Winston Churchill and Arathuisa. She also enjoyed dressmaking, knitting, motor racing and foreign holidays. Her main hobby was diving and underwater photography, and her latest hobby was tracing her family tree. She was also a member of Uzmaston church.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners were: Morton Killa (father); Robert Killa (brother), plus relatives and close friends too numerous to mention.
The service was held at Uzmaston Church followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn Crematorium and was officiated by Rev J. Evans.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Roy Folland and Sons, Haverfordwest.
Mr P. James
Neyland
The death occurred at Withybush Hospital on April 20th of Peter James, of Honeyborough, Neyland. He was 64.
Peter had lived in Neyland all his life and had been employed in local government for 36 years. He worked firstly for Neyland Urban District Council and upon amalgamation for Preseli District Council until his early retirement in 1996. He was a home loving family man, a keen gardener and DIY enthusiast.
The family left to mourn are: Carol (wife); Simon and Claire (son and daughter-in-law); Rachel (daughter); Luke, Megan, Katie and Bethany (grandchildren); Roy and Sybil (brother and sister-in-law); Phyllis and Jimmy (sister and brother-in-law); Trevor (brother-in-law); Mrs E. James (aunt) and numerous nephews and nieces.
The funeral took place at Bethesda Baptist Chapel followed by interment at Neyland Cemetery. There were family flowers only.
The service was officiated by Rev Steve Lee and the bearers were Gareth Bryant, Arthur Chapman, David Jones and Christopher Jones. Unable to attend were Roy and Sybil (Stowmarket) and Phyllis (Clynderwen).
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Tom Newing and Sons, Milford Haven.
Mr T. Butler
Pembroke
The death occurred on May 24th of Terence (Titch) Butler of Pater Church Court, Pembroke, formerly of Pembroke Dock and formerly of Waterloo.
He died on the Sunderland Ward of South Pembs hospital. He was 68 and had been ill for some time.
The funeral took place at St Teilo's church followed by interment at Llanion cemetery on June 3rd. Rev Thelma Barber officiated. The bearers were Daniel Overend Jnr, Jimmy Driscoll, Dai O'Connor and Andrew Stanton.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by John Roberts and Son, Pembroke Dock.
Mrs J. Green
Freystrop
The funeral took place on May 23rd of Joan Green, of Tanglewood, Targate Road, Freystrop, who died on May 20th at Withybush Hospital after a short illness. She was 72.
Originally from Halifax, Yorkshire, Joan met her husband Bryn when he was stationed in the RAF. They recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.
Joan was a popular and well known local business woman and for 30 years worked with Bryn and their son Peter in the family business, Greens Glazing in Haverfordwest.
Since her retirement, Joan enjoyed a full and active life spending time with her family.
A large gathering of family and friends attended the funeral at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, which was officiated by Canon Geoffrey Gwyther.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners were: Bryn (husband); Julie and Mike (daughter and son-in-law); Peter and Heather (son and daughter-in-law); Sally (daughter); Rhys, Huw, Remy, Tim and Kelly (grandchildren); Gwen Thicket (stepmother); Thora Green (sister-in-law); Elaine and Jim (sister and brother-in-law); Ruth and Valerie (family friends), together with many more family and friends too numerous to mention.
The bearers were Byron Davies, Mike Pritchard, Tim John, Graham Davenport, Peter Green and Rhys Pritchard.
There were family flowers only but donations if desired may be sent to ward ten, Withybush Hospital.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Glyn Thomas and Son, Hook.

Clynderwen
Mrs E. North (known as Betty) died on Tuesday, May 27th, at her home in Clynderwen.
She was the wife of Jimmy; mother of Helen and Kevin, Nigel and Jayne, Warren and Mel; nan of Kyle, Cerys, Andrew, Rebecca, Robert, Hollie, Ellie and Jack and sister of Pat and Loma.
The funeral took place on Tuesday June 3rd at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth.

Ar ddydd Mercher Ebrill 16ed yn el chartref 1, Crud-yr-Awel, Efailwen bu farw Sarah Anne (San) Owens yn 87 mlwydd oed.
Ganwyd yn Dangarn Mynachlogddu cyn symud I Lynsaithmaen, Rhosfach I ffermio gyda'I rhieni. Priododd ym 1951 a symud I Gilfach Ddofn, Efailwen gyda'I phriod John a ffermio a fagu teulu o bedwar. Bu iddi ymddeol ym 1971 ar ol marwolaeth ifanc ei gwr ac umgartrefodd yn 1, Crud-yr-Awel, Efailwen.
Gwraig ei milltir sgwar oedd San ac roedd ei theulu, cymdogion a ffrindiau yn agos iawn ati. Tystiolaeth o barch yr ardal tuag ati oedd y dyrfa a ddaeth I Fethel Mynachlogddu ar ddydd Llun Ebrill 21.
Cynhaliwyd gwasanaeth teuluol yn ei chartref gan ei gweinidog y Parch. Eirian Wyn Lewis a'r parchedig Emyr Gwyn Evans. Yna dilynodd gwasanaeth cyhoeddus yng Nghapel Bethel dan ofal y Parch. Eirian Wyn Lewis gyda chymorth y Parchedig Emyr Gwyn Evans, Eric John a'r Parcheidg Irfon, C. Roberts. Yr organyddes oedd Jill Lewis (nith), yr archgludwyr oedd Cerwyn Davies, Dyfed Davies, Eifion Evans, Eirwyn Evans, Eurig Evans and Huw Owens (neiaint). Claddwyd ei gweddillion ym mynwent y Capel.

Mr B. A. Paramore
Narberth (formerly of Manorbier)
The death occurred on May 23rd of Brian Alan Paramore, who died aged 67 after spending seven days in Withybush Hospital.
He was originally from Cardiff and worked as a car salesman for his father in the family business in Cardiff, and also as a mechanic. He then moved to Manorbier and worked for Marine and Port Services.
Later he worked for the RAC and finally started his own business, Manorbier Taxis. When Brian's health failed him, his son Christopher took over the family business.
Brian was a member of Cardiff City Social Club and loved listening to music and reading.
The family left to mourn and principal mourners are Christine (wife); Christopher (son); Hollie (daughter-in-law); Linda (sister); Martin (brother-in-law); Charlotte (niece); Carol (sister-in-law); Steve (brother-in-law); Dan (nephew); John (brother-in-law).
The funeral service was held at Parc Gwyn Crematorium and was officiated by Rev Elwyn John.
The bearers were Graham Thomas, Paul Hay, Terry Brace and Gavin Wright.
There were family flowers only with donations for the intensive care unit, Withybush Hospital to E. C. Thomas and Son, Archways, Green Plains, Stepaside, SA67 8LT, who also carried out the funeral arrangements.
Mrs A. Davies
Tavernspite
Agnes Davies, of Sophia Villa, Tavernspite, died on Tuesday, June 3rd, at Glangwili Hospital. She was 88.
She was born in Tavernspite in 1919, the eldest daughter of George and Sophia Williams, and was brought up in the village along with her sister, Margaret.
She was educated at Tavernspite Primary and Whitland Secondary schools.
In 1941 she married Monty Davies, and together they developed his building business, and later took on a shop in Whitland, which was known as M. L, Davies, or Monty's.
Through the years she was affectionately known as Mrs Monty. She continued to run the business until in her 80s when ill health began to take its toll, and she gradually reduced her workload.
Agnes was a member of Carvan Chapel, where she had been a deacon for many years. She was also well known in local draughts and whist drive circles.
She suffered a gradual deterioration in health over the last few years. Her death occurred five days after suffering a stroke.
Her funeral took place on Saturday, June 7th, with a service and interment taking place at Carvan Chapel.
The family left to mourn were Mearl and Bryan Owen (daughter and son-in-law); Mary and Rhiannon Jones (daughter and granddaughter); Kevin and Shirley Owen (grandson and granddaughter-in-law); Carol and James Greenhalgh (granddaughter and grandson-in-law); Megan, Gethin, Carwyn, Deiniol and Teifi (great grandchildren). Many other family and friends attended the funeral.
The service was officiated by Rev Hywel Brown and Rev Glaslyn Bowen. A tribute was read by Ruby Jones. The organist was Norma Lewis and the bearers were Ken Davies, Brian Webb, Ronnie James and Tony Hughes.
There were family flowers only, and donations for Meddygfa Taf, Whitland, and Carvan Chapel, may be sent to Ken Davies and Sons, Clynderwen, who carried out the funeral arrangements.
MRS E. THORNTON
PEMBROKE
Ethel Thornton, Ashdale Care Home's oldest resident, died at the home on May 29th. She was 97.
The last survivor of a family of ten, Ethel was born in Manchester and married her husband, Ted, in 1937. They had two children, Malcolm and Susan, and they then moved to Wallasey.
Ted died in 1964, and 25 years later, Ethel moved to Pembroke to live with her daughter, Susan, and her son-in-law, John. She moved into Ashdale Care Home in August 2006.
Ethel was a deeply committed Christian. From her teenage years in Manchester until she left Wallasey, she had been a Sunday School teacher, kindergarten leader, Young Wives' Fellowship organiser and, finally, enrolling member of the Mothers' Union at Emmanuel Church. Together with her husband, Ethel was very much a pillar of the church community.
Ethel's funeral took place at St Michael's Church, Pembroke, on Friday, June 6th, followed by cremation at Parc Gwyn. The services were officiated by Rev. Graham Davies, and a family friend, Chris Griffiths played the organ.
The family left to mourn are Malcolm and Rosemary (son and daughter-in-law); Susan and John (daughter and son-in-law); Clare and Dan (granddaughter and husband); Julie (granddaughter) and Sam (great-grandson).
There were family flowers only with donations, for Ashdale Care Home, to John Roberts and Son, Pembroke Dock, who carried out the funeral arrangements.
Miss E. S. Morgan
Tenby
The funeral took place on June 7th of Edith (Edie) Sylvia Morgan, of 10 Heywood Court, Tenby, who died at Withybush Hospital on May 29th. She was 90.
Born at Rose Cottage, New Hedges, she was the youngest of six children.
She worked at Shanley's South Beach pavilion as an usherette and later at the Playhouse Cinema, in Tenby. She retired from Homebake bakery on South Parade when she was 70, where she had worked for nearly 20 years.
She enjoyed gardening, reading and visiting the library every week. She was often seen walking the coastal path at Monkstone Point most Sundays with six dogs.
The family left to mourn are: Pam, David and Margaret; Nesta and David (niece and nephew); Andrew, Sally and Jerry (great-nephew and niece); Margery and John, Margaret and Alfie and families (close friends) and others too numerous to mention.
There were family flowers only, with donations for the National Trust Pembrokeshire to W. and M. Rossiter and Sons, The Old Rectory, The Norton, Tenby who carried out the funeral arrangements.
